A sales funnel uses a series of ordered web pages that guides a new customer into a buying decision. You target a group of people to a specific product that would benefit them. Some funnels are only two pages and some can be much longer. I use funnels but still rely on a team of sales professionals to close deals over the phone. That’s where Russell and I are different.
You can hit on those pain points, and you can say, “Look, I don't know if this is you, but if you're open to looking at a profession where you can take your real estate skills and produce an income without a cap on your ceiling then leave your name and information, download this e-book or we'll give you this free audio series or this free video series or this free e-book on how to do exactly that and take your real estate skills, plug them in over here and make as much money as you want.” That would be a great offer for real estate agents who don't know anything about network marketing. You capture their info.
The main sales pitch of MLM companies to their participants and prospective participants is not the MLM company's products or services. The products/services are largely peripheral to the MLM model. Rather, the true sales pitch and emphasis is on a confidence given to participants of potential financial independence through participation in the MLM, luring with phrases like "the lifestyle you deserve" or "independent distributor." Erik German's memoir My Father's Dream documents the real life failures of German's father as he is lured into "get-rich-quick" schemes such as Amway. The memoir illustrates the multi-level marketing sales principle known as "selling the dream".
On a side note, I started using doTERRA about five years ago and love the oils! I didn’t join them to sell, or make money. I just wanted to raise awareness in what they could do and help with for individuals and families, as they did me and mine. In fact, many of my friends are now distributors (not under me). Lost opportunities? Not at all, in my book. More power to them! Back to R + F, and a little more insight from you would certainly scratch an itch.
I too was an MLM skeptic and additionally had no respect for the industry or those working in it. I stumbled across a company 6 years ago that had a product I LOVED (I didn’t know it was an MLM until after I was exposed to the product), I ended up joining for the discount. It was a low start up (under $100 with everything I needed for my biz and the products I got were worth about twice that), there are NO sales minimums or quotas, I don’t earn ANYTHING if someone signs under me unless I’m a team leader (which I am) and they two are earning (compensation from the company for my time spent as a TL, training and supporting, just like my team leader for at the old corporation I worked for)…we’re not required to have inventory, the only friends I sell to are people who were customers and then BECAME my friends, my hostesses earn a ton of free stuff for their hour of “work” (many of them are very thankful for the opportunity because they can’t otherwise afford the product which happens to be in the category of a “need” and not a want)…
As you see in the illustration above, you may have channels that overlap; for instance, different kinds of social ads in the Awareness part of the funnel. In addition, each channel may have different facets (e.g., Facebook ads versus Facebook fans). Each facet builds upon its own functions, as well as the functions of other networks, to lead to your ultimate goal: sales.
The ease with which a sales funnel can now be created has to do with how funnels have changed throughout the years. In the beginning, they were essentially one shot marketing pieces. Think newspaper ads if you will. All three steps in the sales funnel (finding potential customers, selling yourself and your business and the sales pitch) was essentially a one pitch ad to entice the buyer to purchase a product. That’s not the case now. They have become a lot more complex.
Now, you don’t need a massive advertising budget or a product that targets a basic human need to use this approach. Whether its a paid search ad that addresses the main reason behind someone’s search or a paid social ad that connects your target audience’s need to what you sell, good Stage 2 marketing helps people connect the dots between their pain and your solution.
First of all, Avon “has” been. Second, Avon really needs to work on their appeal to a younger generation. Third, Avon makes it difficult for representatives to make any money unless you are purchasing a ton of catalogs and knocking on doors. I’m surprised Rodan and Fields didn’t make the list, considering they are the fourth largest premium skin care company with the top three being 50+year old companies, Estée Lauder, Lancôme & Clinique. We are North America’s 4th largest and fastest growing premium skincare company, but we’re not in stores, the top 3 — Clinique, Lancôme and Estée Lauder.
I believe the ones that don’t make it in the industry (if they chose a good one) don’t give it enough time (like you said they quit before a year is up) and commitment to doing what it takes to grow. I don’t spam FB and only 2 family members order product but I have at least 100+ home school moms making >$2000/mth. Some team members make more, some less. It’s what they put into it (business wise not monetary)
This lead capture software ranges from simple to complex. You can have a landing page that captures the data, or you can sign up for a system that tracks your user's accounts once they sign in. You can see what products they looked at, what pages they read and, judging from their account activity, you can see how likely they are to become customers.
