Now, if you're just using a squeeze page simply where you're going to collect their email, it's best to give them something for free. It's also called a lead magnet. You can give them an e-book. You can give them a free mini video series or audio series, what ever's going to help you move that product. That's the simple customer version of an online MLM sales funnel (network marketing sales funnel).
Apparently, he did everything he was asked, from buying monthly training products to attending conferences, which can get expensive. Today, those costs are greatly reduced. The Internet, online training, flat-rate long distance and/or cell phone service, and free and affordable online marketing have made building any business, including MLM, much more affordable.
How MLM companies are NOT considered Pyramid organizations is beyond me! They are all scams by the very nature of their organization structure. Those who start or get in early benefit directly from the efforts of those beneath them, forever. Not to mention the fact that most product sold through any of these MLM organization’s is to the dealer network itself. The top dogs are making money regardless as long as there is new blood coming in. And the best way to keep new blood coming in is to incentivize those at the lower middle and below to continue recruiting to build “a network of their own”. And those on the verge of “breaking through” who have already invested a small fortune in products along the way that are sitting on their pantry shelves NEED to keep recruiting. The very thing that differentiates a Pyramid scheme from an MLM is that an MLM sells an actual product. That is it. It doesn’t determine who that product is sold to as it should since we know that most product is sold to the worker bees and not to the general public for long.

I agree with Jeannie. You can build a solid foundation from your warm market & then it snowballs. It is hard work & not a get rich industry. I to am with dōTERRA which is such a product driven company that 80% of wholesale customers are just customers because the products work. I love how everyone I have interacted with in my Upline are so driven by a purpose much bigger than amassing wealth! After almost 20 years of business experience (corporate sales & real estate), I can proudly say that I’ve never worked in such an edifying & encouraging environment. I can’t remember even 1 of my former bosses sitting down with me to chart a plan to bring me up to their level or even to take their current spot on the corp ladder – too much insecurity in that world & after all only 1 person makes it to the top of that pyramid. I love that in Network marketing you can easily surpass the rank & income of the person above you if you work with great purpose. The mentoring available & the personal development which happens in this environment is incredible! http://smartbusinesstrends.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Image-2018-10-08-at-10.33.02-PM.png

But, once you have enough experience to be eligible (and are likely itching for a promotion), they start marketing to you. It might be email marketing or an email list-based retargeting campaign, but these graduate programs do their level best to get back on your radar. It’s a long-term play, but it’s one that works incredibly well because the schools know exactly when their students are “ready to buy” again. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/noI9VaYU3VA/maxresdefault.jpg
How can you afford to outspend your competition? Big companies have massive budgets that most people could never compete with. If you’re just starting out, you probably don’t have a million dollar monthly budget. His answer is direct response marketing using online sales funnels. The goal is to set up your funnel so that for every $1 you put, you get out $2. If you could do that, then the amount you can spend is unlimited. But what is a funnel?
I know there are shady companies, I know there are shady sales people, but that’s in ANY business, not just MLMs/direct sales. As far as the pyramid structure? I can’t speak for other companies, but I can speak for mine and my experience in corporate America. In CA there are grunt workers who process, etc and then there are the team leaders, supervisors, managers…there are people who have jobs that don’t exactly fit into that system, they’re their own…pyramid structure within the main one, but that’s basically how it is, at least in my experience. With my MLM company, it’s basically the same: consultants, leaders, senior leader, directors. Each level has a job and each gets paid accordingly for their time and effort. If we choose to be a sales person and a recruiter (which to me is really offering the opportunity because you never know who might need it and I know MANY people who have needed it, it literally changed their lives and the lives of their families…for the better, of course) then we can work up to leading our own team (those we recruited) and be paid accordingly. Upper level leaders train and support their sales people and the leaders under them… there’s nothing shady about it. As someone else who commented suggested, I did my research and asked LOTS of questions because I WAS skeptical and I think everyone should.
Unlike many MLMs that sell products directly to consumers, Digital Altitude sells a business system to entrepreneurs in the form of courses and methods that teach them to effectively market their own companies. While many of the packages can cost thousands of dollars, Digital Altitude offers a $1 trial, making the risk to try its product very low for the consumer.
I’m using CF now and have been in several MLM’s over the years and have always found the marketing model works so now I feel I have the experience to put this into helping lots of people I know, so my question is can you give me any more guidance and Can I use your post here to make it into a report I can use as a lead magnet? Obviously I will add my own take on the subject.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading your mlm breakdowns and the comments, thank you Jeremy. Had a successful mlm business but had to make a decision to give it up or have a breakdown due to ongoing upline bullying so at a big crossroads at the minute. being an ‘older’ lady here in the north of England doesn’t bode well for conventional job hunting in the current economic climate so some serious thinking needed on my part and QUICKLY lol. Thanks again Jeremy x
Sometimes, when you’re stumped about why your sales funnel isn’t converting the optimal amount of customers, it helps to look at examples. We’ve revisited more than 10 companies that have strong sales funnels to see what changes they’ve made over the years. We’ve also added several brand new sales funnel examples and we plan to add more in the future. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/KhZ2zSFp4ns/hqdefault.jpg
I encourage you to stop spending all of your time trying to find new customers, and instead focus on adding massive value to your current customers. This is why you need a money making online business funnel. It is one of the most successful marketing techniques in order to attract more leads to your business. Without it, your online presence will be non-existent. When you understand what it is that your customers need, then you can create solutions that are in alignment with those needs, while guiding them through the sales process. The result? Higher engagement and and conversion rates.

As non-employees, participants are not protected by legal rights of employment law provisions. Instead, salespeople are typically presented by the MLM company as "independent contractors" or "independent business owners". However, participants do not possess a business in the traditional legal sense, as the participants do not hold any tangible business assets or intangible business goodwill able to be sold or purchased in a sale or acquisition of a business. These are the property of the MLM company. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/HLEMGjhLyvA/maxresdefault.jpg
Hello Miles, thank you for the valuable information. I want to get started as an affiliate marketer but I am afraid to use my real name. I have a PhD in Public Health from a reputable university and this stops me from marketing products because I am afraid I may be judged for marketing products that may not be based on scientific evidence. I want to have the freedom to sell all products. How do I get over this block? Can I still build a list without using myself as the brand? How do I succeed if I am working behind the scenes? What name do I use? A fake name or use a company name? Thank you!
Your subscribers won't ALWAYS be on social media, or scrolling through their email inbox. But, they'll be near their phone, or on one of 100 Billion other sites reading blogs or articles, shopping, gaming, or surfing cool sites that they’re interested in. Use desktop and mobile messages that fly into their browsers (and onto their phones) and reach them no matter what they’re doing.
An online sales funnel promotes one of those two things and depending on how you build it will determine the type of leads and traffic you put into that funnel and how successful that funnel is. Your sales funnel and all the copywriting, all the text, all the images and everything else in that funnel needs to be congruent with the message that you're delivering and the offer that you're promoting.
A sales funnel uses a series of ordered web pages that guides a new customer into a buying decision. You target a group of people to a specific product that would benefit them. Some funnels are only two pages and some can be much longer. I use funnels but still rely on a team of sales professionals to close deals over the phone. That’s where Russell and I are different.
Now that you’ve gotten your advertising, lead generation and sales up and running, you have to understand that your work does not stop there. There is also such as thing as lead nurturing. Develop a relationship with your customers through lead nurturing by communicating with them regularly. It can be through email broadcasts, SMS updates or through phone calls.
I believe the ones that don’t make it in the industry (if they chose a good one) don’t give it enough time (like you said they quit before a year is up) and commitment to doing what it takes to grow. I don’t spam FB and only 2 family members order product but I have at least 100+ home school moms making >$2000/mth. Some team members make more, some less. It’s what they put into it (business wise not monetary)

Founded in 1972, LegalShield sells prepaid legal services. Their network consists of 50 independent provider law firms that service these prepaid legal plans. Legal Shield markets identity theft protection and restoration plans. For example, if someone were to install a Snapchat spy on your phone, with a Legal Shield membership you would have some legal recourse. Additionally, Legal Shield services are sold as an employee benefit for small and large businesses.

MLMs are successful because they provide tempting possibilities — the more you recruit, the more you sell, and the more you make. The possibility for income seems almost endless. However, only a few companies can make this dream a reality. So how do you spot the good ones from the bad ones? Look at the product. If the company has put time and money into creating a valuable product, they will put time and money into selling it.
Hi JP, Your assessment of Melaleuca stating… “When you hit over a billy in annual sales, that’s reason enough to be on the shortlist. On top of that, they’ve been in the MLM game for over two decades, and they’re now the “largest online wellness shopping club” (basically just sounds like a fancy way of saying they sell a lot of miracle diet pills).” is VERY misleading and inaccurate. They offer “far more” products and services than weight control supplements. I have been a “customer” only of Melaleuca for over 20 years and can attest to the superb quality of their products. Please get your facts correct before posting inaccurate information. 🙂
With its anti-wrinkle cream and other products, Jeunesse promises to reverse the signs of aging, if temporarily. Jeunesse also sells products to reduce mental distraction, provide nutrition on the go, and help people lose weight. The company’s impressive live demos and message of remaining forever young have placed them on Inc.’s list of fastest-growing American companies.
Thank you for your article. I am also with doterra and I never in my life thought I would do something like this. The reason I started was because of health issues that led me to the oils. I have been an RN for 23 years and I feel more free and excited to share about health than ever. If you are going into something to get rich quick, I think that is the wrong attitude. I think most of my fellow doterra wellness advocates, have come to the same realization as me. I believe most of us started out trying to help ourselves and our families. I left my nursing job of 17 years in Feb, not because I am making enough money to replace my past income, but because I truly love helping others and I love the company and what it stands for. I can’t argue about MLM’s because I truly don’t care about that side of it. Maybe I am wrong to think that way. I hope that this ride doesn’t end anytime soon because the difference that doterra is making in my life, and the lives of those around me, is amazing. Thank you again for your information and your viewpoint.
The Isreali immigrant brothers turned entrepreneurs behind Seacret Direct managed to take a cliche mall kiosk (you know, the ones that bother the crap out of you while you’re trying to shop) and turn it into a multi-million dollar global direct selling ccompany. Skincare products are pretty yawn-worthy nowadays, but Seacret’s dead sea products come with a 5,000 year history and a lot of fanfare. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/544c1964e4b0dd27d701dd68/t/5a5139cbe2c483af0be5937a/1537125138256/clickfunnels-pricing-how-it-works-1.png

Sisel International: This health and wellness company wasn't on my radar initially, but after looking more closely at it I'd have to see they're right up there ahead of LifeShotz.  Great comp plan, solid international growth, and a recent introduction into the US market makes it a relatively unknown but strong competitor for anyone looking to grow an MLM business. https://blogv2new.clickfunnels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/cf-1024x786.png

The prospect of working from home is becoming increasingly popular. According to The New York Times, a recent Gallup poll reports 43 percent of employees work remotely some of the time. Of those, the number working from home four to five days per week has jumped to 31 percent. Modern workers seem to be embracing the flexibility of working remotely, so it’s not surprising that multi-level marketing companies (MLMs) are “poised for explosive growth,” Forbes predicts.
OK here is the difference Steve. If you quit any of these MLM companies for a whole year, Continue buying product but help no one set up a shopping account, even 2 years, will you continue to get paid by the company? So Steve, as a Director with Melaleuca you helped 8 people total set up a shopping account. There is no Direct or multilevel sales in that, and if they shop you earn commission on their shopping. You will not know what they shop for and thats ok cause its private. Melaleuca is a Consumer direct Manufacturer that sells to the public the products that THEY THEMSELVES make. So by your standards then …Proctor and Gamble is an MLM also. Oh and yes, I took over a year off of inviting people to see what Melaleuca was, and still received my residual check every single month. It is against company policy to sell Melaleuca products. https://effort4successdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/100s-templates.png
You’ll get emotional as you’re on the roller coaster. You’ll appreciate knowing this information and sharing this information with your team. Whatever business you think of doing, ask for proof first. Ask for a business report. What’s the retention like, and what’s the reorder rate? Look at the numbers over a sample size, for example, 10,000 or 20,000 orders, or more.

A salesperson can build his commission rate by advancing in rank/steps and by recruiting new distributors. Consider the commission rate of 10 percent if you were on the third step. If you recruit three distributors who meet their goals and earn the commission of 6 percent, then you earn something called differential commission, which is the difference between your commission and the commission of your recruits (an extra 4 percent). This way, your commission is tied to the group’s commission as well, ensuring a group effort when recruiting and selling.
