Conversion rate: This is a really important metric. While your revenue and number of customers will tell you how much money your funnel is generating, your bottom-of-the-funnel conversion rate is an indicator of how effective are your tactics at converting leads into customers. How you obtain and calculate this conversion rate will depend largely on the tactic you decide to use. For example, if you are doing a product launch with an email sequence, you might want to look at the percentage of subscribers who became customers during the launch. If you want to learn how many people who visit your sales page end up becoming customers, you can use Google Analytics goals to keep track of this metric. http://gedlynk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/lead.png

Thank you for your article. I am also with doterra and I never in my life thought I would do something like this. The reason I started was because of health issues that led me to the oils. I have been an RN for 23 years and I feel more free and excited to share about health than ever. If you are going into something to get rich quick, I think that is the wrong attitude. I think most of my fellow doterra wellness advocates, have come to the same realization as me. I believe most of us started out trying to help ourselves and our families. I left my nursing job of 17 years in Feb, not because I am making enough money to replace my past income, but because I truly love helping others and I love the company and what it stands for. I can’t argue about MLM’s because I truly don’t care about that side of it. Maybe I am wrong to think that way. I hope that this ride doesn’t end anytime soon because the difference that doterra is making in my life, and the lives of those around me, is amazing. Thank you again for your information and your viewpoint.
Sometimes, when you’re stumped about why your sales funnel isn’t converting the optimal amount of customers, it helps to look at examples. We’ve revisited more than 10 companies that have strong sales funnels to see what changes they’ve made over the years. We’ve also added several brand new sales funnel examples and we plan to add more in the future. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/KhZ2zSFp4ns/hqdefault.jpg
No matter what kind of purchase we’re making or how much we intend to spend, all of us follow a relatively similar path when it comes to deciding what to buy. This buying process was first introduced by John Dewey in 1910, but even now — more than 100 years later — it’s still the foundation of understanding buyer behavior and marketing funnel creation. https://32zep73437vn50jgiy887913-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Screen-Shot-2018-04-21-at-4.48.11-PM-1024x546.png
The strategies used to gather information tend to vary based on the size and scope of the purchase. Recognizing that you’re hungry, for example, might result in a quick Yelp search for restaurants in your area. Deciding which provider to use to place a new in-ground pool at your home might involve calling around, reading company reviews online, visiting showrooms, and talking with salespeople. https://goto.clickfunnels.com/hosted/images/f9/72f9907e2d11e8823e25dca2ccead4/clickfunnels-left33.png

People who wonder why network marketing doesn’t work have likely also never joined the best MLM for them at the time or had great upline support and a team around them to get through the often frustrating first few months. Opportunities abound – even publicly traded multi-level marketing companies, who you would think are these huge businesses that give you no attention, have small teams and wonderful leaders to join. It’s just a matter of finding the top teams in the company you’re looking at. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/7pOXESV4H-w/maxresdefault.jpg
I don’t know much about World Ventures, Greg. I do have some very respected friends in the business who build that business and I do trust them. In ANY network marketing business, it more often comes down to what the independent business owner is putting IN to their business. Are they following the plan religiously? There is no company out there that can legitimately promise a get-rich-quick plan. You have to assume MLM is a 4+ year build – and only then when you’re going full-out. Most people don’t have the stamina for that – but if they do or can learn it, people can make a lot of money in many different companies.
Many people are scared away from network marketing, also known as multi-level marketing (MLM), because of all the myths and misunderstanding about this type of business. Part of negativity comes from reported low MLM success rates. However, a multi-level marketing business isn't destined to fail any more than any other business. Regardless of the home business you start, success comes from doing the work to build it.
If 18,000,000 Americans consider MLM their careers, yet only 0.3% actually succeed beyond average corporate America wages, do people realize that means there are barely more than 50,000 Americans “living the MLM dream” and almost 17,950,000 who just help the 50,000? Sad. I was part of team Tupperware decades ago because I wanted to buy Tupperware for my home for less. It took me about 14 months as a stay at home mother (never recruited, never pressured, my distributor didn’t like my attitude) to accomplish that task and then walked away. I live in rural America where so many fall to MLMs attempting to climb out of paycheck to paycheck living (very few good jobs) like the saved into a baptismal pool. “Disciples” is the perfect word. MLMs are just not thriving here. How many Americans can one recruit/sell to for building a business in a rural county with less than 20,000 other Americans of which 75% live below the poverty line? I see MLM victims everywhere.
The legal distinction between MLMs and traditional pyramid schemes has been characterized by many authorities as a legal fiction. Jurisdictions that retain a legal distinction between MLM pyramid businesses versus illegal pyramid schemes retain said distinction on two key distinguishing features: 1) that MLMs always encompass the sale of actual products/services, while traditional illegal pyramid schemes ordinarily do not (though sometimes they do), and 2) that climbing an MLM pyramid is overwhelmingly statistically improbable (especially to its highest participant levels) but not theoretically impossible, whereas climbing a traditional illegal pyramid scheme is both statistically and theoretically impossible.
Since ClickFunnels is a great offer, you should have no qualms with promoting it. You can also promote the other items in the CF value ladder, which would include the Expert Secrets book or the Dot Com Secrets book. Getting a sale on either of those is certainly not too complicated. But you do have to understand the inherent power of affiliate marketing. At it’s basis is the necessity to add exceeding heaps of value.
MLMs have been made illegal in some jurisdictions as a mere variation of the traditional pyramid scheme, including in mainland China. In jurisdictions where MLMs have not been made illegal, many illegal pyramid schemes attempt to present themselves as MLM businesses. Given that the overwhelming majority of MLM participants cannot realistically make a net profit, let alone a significant net profit, but instead overwhelmingly operate at net losses, some sources have defined all MLMs as a type of pyramid scheme, even if they have not been made illegal like traditional pyramid schemes through legislative statutes.
Continuity programs: Membership sites (or continuity programs) offer a great way to earn some passive income. And, adding a continuity program to any funnel is easy with ClickFunnels. As I always say, if you’re serious about making real money and getting rich, you need to make money while you sleep. In order to do that, you need some form of passive income.
The best part? Businesses know and are very willing to spend money on social media marketing because the potential for return on investment is very fast. So, they’ll open up their checkbooks to you. This can definitely supplement or even replace your full-time income quickly and effectively. But you have to know what you’re doing. Don’t try to sell social media marketing if you’ve never done it before. Learn the ropes first. Work for free. Get results. Collect testimonials. Then start charging people.
First of all, Avon “has” been. Second, Avon really needs to work on their appeal to a younger generation. Third, Avon makes it difficult for representatives to make any money unless you are purchasing a ton of catalogs and knocking on doors. The company really needs to allow representatives to advertise online, and I don’t mean spamming friends on a Facebook or Twitter feed.
However, when you succeed, you can definitely make lots of money online. Not just a little bit. Some successful ad agencies are making five to six figures per month in revenue. That’s significant by anyone’s standards. But then there’s people like Nicholas Kusmich who are absolutely crushing it in the ad agency game. Just ensure that you do your due diligence before you sign up to anyone’s program or buy anyone’s course to start your own agency.
Some business owners are moving away from the term “marketing funnel” because they think it’s too mechanical or simplistic to describe the lead nurturing sequence by which customers move from awareness to purchase. I think it’s still a useful way to describe a complex process and it’s a good visual to imagine the entire process from start to finish. https://gedlynk.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Instapage_Logo_Large.png
You need to build that trust, and nowhere is it more important than on the internet. In real life you at least see a person face to face before a sale. Human nature makes you feel more comfortable in these situations. On the internet, people by nature are more cautious. Before you can convince them to buy, you need to convince them you can be trusted. And that’s why building that trust needs to be a focal point of your sales funnel.
The basics of the modern digital marketing funnel include four key stages (similar to AIDA): attract, nurture, convert and delight. However, to accommodate the many different kinds of marketing projects required to compete in today’s fierce online marketing battleground, the funnel steps have expanded. Numbers vary, but these 10 steps often comprise well-oiled digital marketing funnels. The first six stages take place before and up to the point of sale. The last four occur after the point of sale. Here’s a brief overview: https://blog.meshagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/ClickFunnels-Alternative_Mesh-Blog-Post_Leadpages-2.jpg
There are several names for multilevel marketing, including direct marketing, network marketing, referral marketing, direct sales and consumer direct marketing. In a typical MLM, an individual seller earns commissions in two ways: (1) from direct sales and (2) from sales generated by others recruited by the seller. The seller's recruits may have recruits of their own, and the original seller receives commissions from those sales as well. Download AARP Foundation's toolkit, Multilevel Marketing: The Research, Rewards and Rewards, to learn more about MLMs and decide whether one is right for you. https://winningwp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/ClickFunnels-Funnels.png
I have been in network marketing for 20 years having good success, I have not used CF yet, but for what I see this could be a great marriage. The advantage of network marketing over affiliate and even continuity programs is the fact that some of the people you sponsor will continue growing there business creating a return on your money much bigger than any other program, example, if just couple of people see the vision, you can suddenly have a stream of new people coming without spending any more money in ads. Even today most of the growth of network marketing comes from the personal contacts, and with social media, the circle of influences are much bigger! The purpose for me with CF is to add new center of influences where I can leverage my business many times over. I see CF as a powerful tool to increase circle of influences!
Great article Matt! I have a product-based business (skincare to be precise) and I’ve been doing a lot of research on sales funnels over the past few days but only ever come across examples for service-based businesses and struggle to apply those to my business. I do offer a free skincare guide at opt in but can’t think of anything else for the follow up emails to create trust as well as a limited time offer. Would you have any suggestions?
I absolutely love your writing style. I’m a huge sales guy and I absolutely love seeing QUALITY CONTENT out there helping people to get from where they are to where they want to be! You guys are amazing. One thing I’m not teaching is right now is marketing and let me tell you it’s not very many places many people can locate quality content helping them with marketing specifically. Keep up the good work!
Having gotten your advertising, lead generation and sales up and running, you must be aware that the work continues, it doesn’t stop there. There is something otherwise known as lead nurturing. Initiate a cordial relationship with your customers through lead nurturing by having a regular communication with them. Most times, email broadcast, SMS updates or phone calls are advisable.
How to get started: Gather a list of contacts from the groups mentioned above and email them to share the content you’ve created. Important: If your list is large and you plan on emailing them in bulk, you must give them an option to unsubscribe or stop receiving emails from you. An “unsubscribe” button is auto-generated on most email service providers. https://thrivethemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/click-funnels-logoedison-suite-1.png
The end result of the MLM business model is, therefore, one of a company (the MLM company) selling its products and services through a non-salaried workforce ("partners") working for the MLM company on a commission-only basis while the partners simultaneously constitute the overwhelming majority of the very consumers of the MLM company's products and services that they, as participants of the MLM, are selling to each other in the hope of one day themselves being at the top of the pyramid. This creates great profit for the MLM company's actual owners and shareholders. https://i1.wp.com/www.accuratereviews.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/ClickFunnels_Split_Test.jpg
Scentsy is a party plan MLM company offering a variety of home and personal fragrance products. These include a popular line of scented wickless candles and decorative ceramic warmers. After that, you can work at whatever level you want. For example, you can either just earn extra income or you can work enough to replace your income from your 9-to-5 job.

Your comment and it’s militant nature are the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I believe the doTERRA culture is founded upon. I hope anyone reading this thread choose to look past your article and it’s attack on YoungLiving when basing their decision as to which company they choose to go with. I want them to know that the manner in which you needlessly attacked them is in no way a representation of all the other reps nor the company itself.
I am considering joining a MLM but can’t decide. Almost everyone I know either does Genesis Pure, Xyngular, or Thrive. I want something that is healthy and simple. Not something you have to do 3-5 items to have great health results. Please help! There are so many choices. I have researched and read reviews, about the companies and they each have pros and cons. Suggestions please Elliot and thanks again for your time and assistance.
A 2018 poll of 1,049 MLM sellers across various companies found that most sellers make less than the equivalent of 70 cents an hour. Nearly 20 percent of those polled never made a sale, and nearly 60 percent earned less than $500 in sales over the past five years. Nearly 32 percent of those polled acquired credit card debt to finance their MLM involvement.
You, not stats, dictate your success. Like most things in life, success or failure mostly relies on the individual. Certainly, the MLM industry has a vast sea of reps who don't make much money or who quit, but there are reps who are meeting their income goals and some (a small few) are rich. The same could be said about bloggers and most other entrepreneurial ventures. https://changecreator.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/null-4.png
In 2003, Thirty-One Gifts was founded by Cindy Monroe. Because she saw a need among women who didn’t have time to visit gift shops and boutiques, she decided to bring these shops to them. Thirty-One consultants offer totes, purses, thermal bags, and organizing items at home parties, catalog parties and online. What’s more, you can invest in this MLM for just $99. In return, you’ll receive the enrollment kit. This includes more than $400 worth of new products and business supplies. In short, you’ll get everything you need to successfully start your business.
Unlike other distribution methods MLM/NM companies don't advertise their products on TV or other mass media but rather depend on their customers to share the experience and recommend the products to their friends and relatives through word of mouth. They in return get 10-12 % profit of the sale value. Word of mouth/ recommending someone is a very powerful marketing tool which is cheaper and could reach more people because the selling of product is based on trust. Would you not buy a product your close friend uses and finds beneficial and asks you to try ?
I totally agree, Mary. You can lose soooo much more just by opening up a small storefront business. I was in the Spa Industry and then the economy tanked in late 2008. I did not renew my lease in 2009. Lost my several hundred thousand dollar build-out. Lost so much more than taking an MLM business seriously. Even if I would have front loaded on a ton of product, I still would have been better off. People spend $750 and get some business cards then do nothing and blame MLM.
Nobody goes to page two, or on page three. If your website isn’t ranking on page one, you may as well be obsolete. What I recommend to target this audience is that you answer absolutely every question a potential customer might ask in the form of blogs, research papers, and features on your website. Make sure you optimize each piece of content for mobile SEO.
Great listing and especially the honest look at what being in an MLM means. Direct sales is a hard business, especially if you’re not passionately using the product daily. You see too many people who join thinking it will be a get rich quick scheme and don’t actually care about the product or their customers. Genuine lasts and is successful, companies like Avon and Mary Kay have been around for generations because people love their products.
I don’t wish to simply make derogatory comments about your program so, I asked a bunch of questions. At first blush the program doesn’t make much sense to me. Hence, I attempted to clarify some points. ‘Til you do respond I don’t see any reason to look at it again. Given the data presented in the video, that was enough in order for me to decide not to participate.
There's a lot of great stuff in here, including funnels in the marketplace on templates you can download if you're not a big video guy or gal, or you're not good with graphics or things like that. Although you don't really have to be since technically they link up with an image database and you can download images for free from there inside each page when you add images. http://www.onlinefunnelhacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/maxresdefault-19.jpg
But more than product selling MLM/NM provides a lucrative option to earn great part/full-time money and most importantly passive income. Once you sign up somebody in the business by selling a product and he signs-up someone else and so on, you create a network of people who are recommending a product or offering a business opportunity thus generating sales for the company and also earning 10-125 of the total sale happening through your network. In MLM u get percent of every sale that happens in your group of people directly (when u personally sell to someone) or indirectly (your team member sells to someone). So, if you have a network of 10 people and your team sold product worth $1000 then you would earn $100-150 as commissions. For direct sale u get more money.
Let’s suppose that you’re big into cycling and you’ve decided to purchase Trek’s latest Emonda line road bike. You read a few less-than-positive reviews online, but brushed them off on the understanding that all internet comments should be taken with a grain of salt. But then a fellow cyclist whom you respect tells you that he didn’t love the bike. Where you were less inclined to let anonymous reviewers’ feedback affect your buying decision, you are much more motivated by the advice of somebody you know personally. https://cdn-evergreenprof.pressidium.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/clickfunnels-free-trial.png
doTERRA “wellness advocates” come from all backgrounds, countries and walks of life. Without question, they’re passionate about health and wellness and caring for people. A doTERRA wellness advocate is a person who is committed to sharing the life-enhancing benefits of therapeutic-grade essential oils with the world. They do this by sharing the world’s highest-quality essential oil products. Most noteworthy of all, these are products that have been developed by highly educated and experienced botanists, chemists, health scientists, and health-care professionals.
Bottom line: if you’re someone considering an MLM, know what you want from it (discount, part time income, time away from other life duties, a career opportunity, etc), follow you passion in choosing a product/company, do your research , be aware and willing to set a work schedule and actually spend that time working every day (at least in the beginning), do the trainings recommended, have a growth mindset and don’t give up unless you can honestly say you’ve don’t what’s required….
It was Todd Brown who made many of these types of funnels for those big time gurus and after studying his free stuff I see Johns as a simplified version of it. BUT still I cannot seem to get it out of my head that it is just too much to hit a person up with. It kinda makes you look like the greedy Gordon Gecko of the internet. How could someone TRUST a marketer that hits them this hard at their initial introduction?
I do agree that my wording was a bit 'aggressive' in the video... With that said, I am still driving traffic from FB directly to landing pages that have ~15 words max on them, to this day! My ad copy and my landing page copy are super similar... And I get a high relevance score... I've had no problems at all. One thing I recommend is setting up a business.facebook.com account, then setting up as many ad accounts as you can (not adding any credit card to them, tho) to just have some extra accounts there... Just in case.
