To earn a real income (online or offline), you have to extricate your time from your ability to earn. As you read the coming list of how to really make money online, think about that. If you think about doing something that’s going to be directly exchanging your time for money, understand you’ll be limited in that endeavor. That doesn’t make it bad. It’s just something to keep in the back of your mind.
MLM salespeople are not employees of the MLM company. Participants do not derive a salary/wage, nor do participants receive remuneration from the MLM company for their invested labor and expenses in their MLM "independent business". If a customer has a great experience, they will often return to your company when they need your product or service. The value of the entire future relationship with your customer (a.k.a. Users Lifetime Value, or, LTV) is not something to disregard. Selling is harder than ever nowadays; consumers are increasingly tuning out advertising and sales conversations, instead, they are choosing to re-engage with brands much later in the marketing cycle. They may have done most of their research and nearly settled on their choice, or after purchasing your product or service. Unfortunately, if consumers are in charge of the conversation and tuning out your attempts to reach them, replacing lost customers is that much more of a challenge. This is why retaining customers and creating brand advocates is crucial to business today. Additionally, when consumers have a good experience with a brand, they often share that information with their friends.  These seem like prehistoric marketing tactics that do not apply to online marketing, but they do.
The exposure and awareness stage of the online marketing funnel is where the message you want to deliver to your consumer begins. It sets the tone of the visit to your website for your audience.  The goal of this messaging is to entice the potential customer to find out more. Often, a strong call-to-action can be successful in this channel; however, it is important that we do not lose human aspect in messaging. The conversation should start as realistic and natural as possible and continue to be throughout the entire marketing process.

But first ask, how many people can you personally find who have replaced their income at such n such a company? I’m grateful to say I have hundreds of dōTERRA advocates who have, and who go about it with integrity. Thanks for all the research, it was fun to read. Lesson: Always re-create yourself.
Most importantly, the Bootcamp focuses on the larger issue that so many entrepreneurs struggle with and that is developing your audience and figuring out who it is that you’re going to serve in your business. People who wonder why network marketing doesn’t work have likely also never joined the best MLM for them at the time or had great upline support and a team around them to get through the often frustrating first few months. Opportunities abound – even publicly traded multi-level marketing companies, who you would think are these huge businesses that give you no attention, have small teams and wonderful leaders to join. It’s just a matter of finding the top teams in the company you’re looking at.

Nobody goes to page two, or on page three. If your website isn’t ranking on page one, you may as well be obsolete. What I recommend to target this audience is that you answer absolutely every question a potential customer might ask in the form of blogs, research papers, and features on your website. Make sure you optimize each piece of content for mobile SEO.

The low cost often lures people in without doing their research. People make many mistakes when starting in MLM. Some don't research the company or product. Others don't read the contract they sign. Many newbies rely on the information provided by their sponsor. This is a problem because even the best sponsor won't be able to cover every little detail, and of course, some sponsors fail to disclose everything (in which case, you don't want that sponsor). Problems people experience in MLM due to failure to research or study the contract is their fault, not MLM.

To put these statistics into context, John compared them with the failure rates for traditional small businesses using the Small Business Administration’s statistics for 2008. And he discovered that 44% of small businesses survive at least four years, 31% at least seven years, and 39% are profitable over the life of their business. In 10 years only 64% of small businesses fail.

You can either go one or two routes. You can go after specific niches like real estate agents, nurses, teachers, and you can speak to those people specifically on whatever their pain points are with their job. Or you can go after existing network marketers that either may not be happy in their current company, because they're looking around. They've been in it for years and they haven't had success or maybe network markers that have been out of their company, and they're looking, they're just open, right?
Considering their products are botanically based with an ingredient policy that prohibits many of the chemicals and fillers Mary Kay and Avon still use in their own products, I’d say they’ve established a business for men and woman who are truly serious about the health of their skin, not just the evenness of their complexion. A little research goes a long way.
Hey Erica, I’m a doterra gal also. Just over 3 years ago I just wanted to see if these hippie oils really worked from there I couldn’t keep my mouth shut and I share with whomever will listen. I recently read this in the leadership magazine and I love it. “An oil for every household, a drop to change a life”. That is my goal. I never plan to get rich off my sharing but if I can change a life, help someone along the way it will be worth my time.

Now, I’m not saying that if you can’t figure out how to make money online that you’re just looking for excuses. But, heck, yeah, I kind of am saying that. However, you can’t just expect to wake up one day, decide you want to earn some cash online, and then it magically appears for you. It doesn’t quite work that way. I’m not saying you have to fail or suffer hardships, but that’s generally the case as you learn the proverbial ropes.
In time I would like to branch out into multiple niches, but am unsure whether I can do this using one company name. If I am effectively emailing various lists (who have bought different niche products and are categorised into separate email lists), would it be best to use different email addresses and company names for each niche? I am unsure what to do, as I do not wish to appear to deceive anyone, but do not want to be protrayed as an expert in every area.
Think about someone who owns property. Maybe they have a few houses, nothing massive, but they rent them out. The rent pays the mortgage, tax, rental agency, maintenance and some is saved. But they still have $100 per house net profit. That means, even if the landlord does NOTHING for a month, each house will generate $100 pure profit. Over a few houses, that’s enough to cover all your living expenses and more.

I totally agree, Mary. You can lose soooo much more just by opening up a small storefront business. I was in the Spa Industry and then the economy tanked in late 2008. I did not renew my lease in 2009. Lost my several hundred thousand dollar build-out. Lost so much more than taking an MLM business seriously. Even if I would have front loaded on a ton of product, I still would have been better off. People spend $750 and get some business cards then do nothing and blame MLM.
This lead capture software ranges from simple to complex. You can have a landing page that captures the data, or you can sign up for a system that tracks your user's accounts once they sign in. You can see what products they looked at, what pages they read and, judging from their account activity, you can see how likely they are to become customers.

The level of customer service, fulfillment, and happiness with your customer’s product or service all play a part of the consumer’s post-conversion experience. It is important that communications with your customers continue after the purchase; now that you have the consumers business and contact information, it should be easy to continue the conversation.  Understanding the importance of good customer service is essential for a healthy business in creating new customers, keeping loyal customers, and developing referrals for future customers.
