It was Todd Brown who made many of these types of funnels for those big time gurus and after studying his free stuff I see Johns as a simplified version of it. BUT still I cannot seem to get it out of my head that it is just too much to hit a person up with. It kinda makes you look like the greedy Gordon Gecko of the internet. How could someone TRUST a marketer that hits them this hard at their initial introduction?
I absolutely love your writing style. I’m a huge sales guy and I absolutely love seeing QUALITY CONTENT out there helping people to get from where they are to where they want to be! You guys are amazing. One thing I’m not teaching is right now is marketing and let me tell you it’s not very many places many people can locate quality content helping them with marketing specifically. Keep up the good work! https://goto.clickfunnels.com/hosted/images/4a/5108207e2e11e8974b63f90094fd79/clickfunnels-right1.png
The purchase decision is the natural conclusion of the preceding three stages. You determine that you have a problem, investigate your options, decide which one is best for you, and then pull the trigger. However, businesses need to be aware that there are two things that can disrupt this stage: negative feedback from fellow customers and the prospect’s motivation to accept this feedback.
PR/Press: This tactic consists of getting media coverage for your content, brand, or business. Media outlets and publications have built large audiences over a long time—that’s what their entire business model is about—so if you can tap into that, it can mean a significant boost of traffic to your site. PR is all about having an interesting angle that is newsworthy and presenting it in the right way to journalists and reporters.
If you’re running an accounting business, at this stage, your customers would be evaluating different potential service providers. They might need resources like pricing guides (so they know what ballpark rates are), how to evaluate the landscape of accounting services (i.e. whether to hire a solo accountant, an agency, etc), or how to choose an accountant. https://www.onlinedimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/sharing-landing-pages.png

wow glad I found this site and yes… all is true with the frustrations of understanding and building an effective a WT (EFF)!! funnel is part of the subscription a “one on one” call with a mentor.. the “hot seat” or is that a group meeting on line.? I m looking for some one on one coaching at least for a while till I get rolling, I think any way! JAY
http://www.idahofallsmagazine.com/2014/12/demystifying-Melaleuca does NOT fit any of the descriptions about multi-level marketing. Best double check. 😀 We had to. We thought it was until we looked closer. Opening Online Shopping Accounts! Not a “home parties” company, no inventory, and no delivering of products. Just a website! Best HOME BASED Business we have ever found. And we have been LOOKING! Thanks.
If they are, the company is strong, and the product or service is a winner, then you will succeed. You will have to put the effort in to learn the systems and processes that make it work, but there's a big difference between a sponsor and a recruiter. A sponsor coaches, motivates, and trains while a recruiter simply signs people up and, in most cases, abandons them once their commission is collected.
You could change the title of this article to “why driving for Uber is a bad side hustle or why opening your own business is a bad side hustle” because every single point you’ve made about mlms is also true about those as well as most start-ups! Uber doesn’t buy you a car does it? Nope you need a car so you’ll have a car payment, gas, insurance repairs etc and Uber keeps a % plus you’ll need a phone and a phone plan $$$$. How many people actually work long enough at Uber to “make a profit” then? Not even 1%? Ok now let’s talk about a lease, employees, inventory, insurance equipment permits accountants kawyers and taxes for a business start up. How long do you have to work to make a profit?. Years and years and years and most fail leaving them in huge debt.
No matter what kind of purchase we’re making or how much we intend to spend, all of us follow a relatively similar path when it comes to deciding what to buy. This buying process was first introduced by John Dewey in 1910, but even now — more than 100 years later — it’s still the foundation of understanding buyer behavior and marketing funnel creation.

MLM salespeople are not employees of the MLM company. Participants do not derive a salary/wage, nor do participants receive remuneration from the MLM company for their invested labor and expenses in their MLM "independent business". The income of participants, if any income is made at all, is derived only from commissions on their personal sales or their share of the commissions on the personal sales of their downlines (the MLM compensation structure).

Technically this page could be any kind of page since there is no form to be submitted on it. It can be an opt-in page, sales page, whatever type of page you want to pick from their templates and click funnels. You can pick it, since it doesn't matter. You just need to make sure the button on the page is configured to go to the next page in the funnel, since there's no form being submitted on this bridge page. https://royaltyfunnels.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/1821-0-capture-pros-logo.png

Suppose your furnace goes out in the middle of winter. Your problem is obvious: you need a new furnace. And the solution is easy — you need to call HVAC providers in your areas for quotes. But say you need a new car. Should you look for an SUV, a compact car or a mid-size sedan? Even vaguer still, if you’re frustrated with how much your accountant is charging you to do your business’ taxes, you might not even be familiar with all the different solutions, like cloud-based accounting services.
Offline tactics: A lot of new online instructors aren’t new to teaching, speaking, or coaching. Most of the time, Teachable instructors have been teaching in one way or another in the offline world for years before deciding to create an online course. If you speak at conferences, do group coaching, or teach offline classes, these are great opportunities to get more traffic to your site.

I believe the ones that don’t make it in the industry (if they chose a good one) don’t give it enough time (like you said they quit before a year is up) and commitment to doing what it takes to grow. I don’t spam FB and only 2 family members order product but I have at least 100+ home school moms making >$2000/mth. Some team members make more, some less. It’s what they put into it (business wise not monetary)
Hey Erica, I’m a doterra gal also. Just over 3 years ago I just wanted to see if these hippie oils really worked from there I couldn’t keep my mouth shut and I share with whomever will listen. I recently read this in the leadership magazine and I love it. “An oil for every household, a drop to change a life”. That is my goal. I never plan to get rich off my sharing but if I can change a life, help someone along the way it will be worth my time. https://ads552vaou93hyfr12hxhki2-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/6-clickfunnels-templates.png
As people progress through your funnel, their intent to buy steadily increases. You always lose people with each new commitment you ask for (we refer to these actions “conversions”), but the more people you can get to convert at each step in your funnel, the more sales you will ultimately produce. In marketing, we call this process “widening the funnel.”
When you employ a good affiliate marketing management system, it allows you keep stalk of your sales, affiliates progress, payments due, payment made, etc. It’s highly recommend if you’re just launching a successful MLM business. Always ensure the management system you use permits you to merge with other tools that can also enhance the growth of your business.
Ariix: They have an extremely strong compensation plan, have entered momentum, and possess a Bill of Rights unique to the industry that gives distributors vetoing rights on a corporate level.  Ariix focuses on health and nutrition in an all natural fashion.  Their flagship product is a weight loss product called Slenderiiz. This is the company we ultimately partnered with. If you'd like to know why we went with them over the others mentioned below feel free to click the “Contact Me' tab at the bottom of the page and let's have a chat.

Customers will move on to Stage 5 when the sale is complete. Although we won’t detail it here, Norman should brainstorm the kinds of information these customers will need, as well as how he’ll provide it as part of a cohesive onboarding process. Though he doesn’t need to worry about customers finding him at this stage or moving on to the next one, it’s still important to meet their needs so that they walk away feeling good about their purchase decisions! http://jonschumacher.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ClickFunnels-Review-3-1024x574.png

If you ask me, that seems like a more efficient, better use of your time. I recommend you create short (read: under 30 seconds) videos about your company, as well as how-tos and videos that answer consumer questions. Promote them on YouTube as well as social media sites, and don’t forget to put them on correlating landing pages and blogs on your site.
That's the difference. So, the real question is what stage of earnings is your business in. Does your business fall into the struggling to make a buck category? Then don't buy it and focus on getting quality clients one at a time. If you're turning a profit and looking to go from 5 to 6 figures or more. Then get your credit card out and supercharge your business.
Great article, thank you for including some statistics. I do have a few friends who make a bit of side money with selling DoTerra and Norwex, but I also think they mostly do it to get wholesale prices on products they want to purchase anyway. It’s incredibly difficult to actually make a profit unless you’re willing to pour your entire life into the company.
The Direct Selling Association (DSA), a lobbying group for the MLM industry, reported that in 1990 only 25% of DSA members used the MLM business model. By 1999, this had grown to 77.3%.[26] By 2009, 94.2% of DSA members were using MLM, accounting for 99.6% of sellers, and 97.1% of sales.[27] Companies such as Avon, Electrolux, Tupperware,[28] and Kirby were all originally single-level marketing companies, using that traditional and uncontroversial direct selling business model (distinct from MLM) to sell their goods. However, they later introduced multi-level compensation plans, becoming MLMs.[23] The DSA has approximately 200 members[29] while it is estimated there are over 1,000 firms using multi-level marketing in the United States alone.[30]
The other thing that you can do is setup a landing page. Even if you found thousands of prospects, you haven’t captured their email address yet. You’re wasting a lot of energy just to recruit them and add them to your contact list. In order to capture their email addresses, you’re going to need to build a compelling and conversion optimized landing page.
Although an MLM company holds out those few top individual participants as evidence of how participation in the MLM could lead to success, the reality is that the MLM business model depends on the failure of the overwhelming majority of all other participants, through the injecting of money from their own pockets, so that it can become the revenue and profit of the MLM company, of which the MLM company shares only a small proportion of it to a few individuals at the very top of the MLM participant pyramid. Participants, other than the few individuals at the top, provide nothing more than their own financial loss for the company's own profit and the profit of the top few individual participants.[15]

The only thing that is stopping you is yourself at this point. Your ambition and your drive are the only things that you personally have to worry about. So many entrepreneurs lack motivation and discipline to do what needs to be done regarding their business when they’re first starting out. It isn’t until desperation and necessity kick in that people are willing to do what is necessary. Start out strong with the kind of endurance and drive necessary for the road ahead and we’ll help you with education and software.
Kannaway: With a generous comp plan and all natural products Kannaway has the potential to attract a very large niche.  They are one of the least expensive companies to startup with as well for those on a budget.  Founded in 2014, I'd say Kannaway is poised to enter momentum within the next year or two.  I had the chance recently to interview a couple of Kannaway's top earners, make sure you check out my interview with Logan Lynn Roberts and my second interview with top earner Billy Funk.
Advocacy (aka, loyalty and evangelism) - This is often one of the most overlooked stages in the marketing funnel. But brands who work to turn their satisfied customers into advocates often score major rewards for their efforts. Satisfied customers can spread the word to a whole new universe of prospects, including their peers, colleagues, family and friends.

For a real estate agent, for example, it might be, because I know quite a few real estate agents, it might be something along the lines of “Do you love real estate, but perhaps not the long hours or showing homes on the weekends or being away from your family and your kids to close a deal when you'd rather be spending time with them or perhaps you don't like the fluctuations in the market that tend to control your income, making it inconsistent?”
How to get started: Gather a list of contacts from the groups mentioned above and email them to share the content you’ve created. Important: If your list is large and you plan on emailing them in bulk, you must give them an option to unsubscribe or stop receiving emails from you. An “unsubscribe” button is auto-generated on most email service providers.
If 18,000,000 Americans consider MLM their careers, yet only 0.3% actually succeed beyond average corporate America wages, do people realize that means there are barely more than 50,000 Americans “living the MLM dream” and almost 17,950,000 who just help the 50,000? Sad. I was part of team Tupperware decades ago because I wanted to buy Tupperware for my home for less. It took me about 14 months as a stay at home mother (never recruited, never pressured, my distributor didn’t like my attitude) to accomplish that task and then walked away. I live in rural America where so many fall to MLMs attempting to climb out of paycheck to paycheck living (very few good jobs) like the saved into a baptismal pool. “Disciples” is the perfect word. MLMs are just not thriving here. How many Americans can one recruit/sell to for building a business in a rural county with less than 20,000 other Americans of which 75% live below the poverty line? I see MLM victims everywhere. https://mk0sprout24comgnv2te.kinstacdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/clickfunnels-donations.png
look if you go and search top MLM businesses, no matter what link you click on, the number one company is amway. Why everyone goes with different companies i don’t get it, check it out compare to mary kay. Here’s the thing though, I contract with amway, but my organization is worldwide. Mentorship organization. I feel which ever MLM business you choose, join a mentorship organization that is in that business. The reason why amway is number one is because of worldwide. it’s only 10% of everyone that is in amway, yet 90% of the 6 and 7 figure earners are part of worldwide…why? because they broken down the company and know exactly how to succeed and retire quicker than someone who tries amway on their own or joins another mentorship company. what’s the success rate? to those who do what others have done 100%. So at the end of the day, consider all of this. With amway and worldwide, it doesn’t matter how old you are, where you come from, ANYONE can do it. Mary Kay is a female company, good luck getting a bunch of single dudes to make it with that.
When you hit over a billy in annual sales, that’s reason enough to be on the shortlist. On top of that, they’ve been in the MLM game for over two decades, and they’re now the “largest online wellness shopping club” (basically just sounds like a fancy way of saying they sell a lot of miracle diet pills…for our rankings of the best women diet pills are here).
When I say that ClickFunnels is revolutionary, I don’t mean that lightly. There is no company in the world that is quite like ClickFunnels. If you are starting with nothing or a part time job, or just a job that you don’t like and want to get out of eventually; ClickFunnels is the first step down a road that offers you the potential of financial freedom unlike any other company in the world. The great thing is that you will have the opportunity to start out wherever you are in your business to start making money that can change your life. https://winningwp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Leadpages-404-Template.png
One of the benefits of MLM is the ability to bring in new business builders and profit from the sales they make in their business. While some see this as "using" others, the reality is that you're being rewarded for helping others succeed. But for them to succeed, you need to see your role not as racking up as many recruits as possible, but in being a leader and trainer. The focus then is on the success of those you help in the business, not on you.
I enjoyed this post and spent too many hours reading all your other posts and watching your videos. You have some excellent real life experiences to share and glad I found this blog. My wife and I are with It Works Global (She started it and I came on board later). I was curious why they didn’t make your list? Do you think blogging would work with this type MLM? I have only had success using Instagram and Facebook. The MLM model is not something I like but it is what is I guess. My wife joined to get a discount on wraps and now this insane looking chart pays the bills. I want to take it further just keep searching for a good way to do so. Maybe blogging is the answer? Thank you. for your time. Mike https://i.ytimg.com/vi/s4m5P5NR-4A/hqdefault.jpg

Do you have any information on how to set up and link Landing Page, Thank you page, etc. in Thrive (For an Affiliate funnel) like you do with Clickfunnels? I have read and watched several times (above) but am not able to convert Clickfunnel understanding to Thrive. I have watched several tutorials in Thrive University and haven't yet seen how to do that. Any assistance is greatly appreciated; Thank you! https://thrivethemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/A-Complex-Funnel.png

MLMs are also criticized for being unable to fulfill their promises for the majority of participants due to basic conflicts with Western cultural norms.[57] There are even claims that the success rate for breaking even or even making money are far worse than other types of businesses:[58] "The vast majority of MLMs are recruiting MLMs, in which participants must recruit aggressively to profit. Based on available data from the companies themselves, the loss rate for recruiting MLMs is approximately 99.9%; i.e., 99.9% of participants lose money after subtracting all expenses, including purchases from the company."[58] In part, this is because encouraging recruits to further "recruit people to compete with [them]"[4] leads to "market saturation."[22] It has also been claimed "(b)y its very nature, MLM is completely devoid of any scientific foundations."[59]

You've probably heard horror stories about people ending up with a garage full of expensive water filters or other items. This happens because only other distributors will purchase the product at that price. Your product or service must fill a real need at a fair price, and there should be a large untapped market for it. In other words, it must provide tremendous value so that the customer is the biggest winner. https://www.stephenesketzis.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Screen-Shot-2017-03-23-at-11.24.51-am.png
If you can’t drive traffic, you can’t really earn money whatsoever. Period. End of sentence. So you have to figure out where that traffic is going to come from because it’s the lifeblood of your business. Your potential to generate an income is going to be directly tied to your ability to get prospects to visit your landing pages, offers and sales funnels. https://winningwp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/ClickFunnels-Create-Custom-Funnel.png
MLM Legal: An MLM Lead Batching or Distributor Gathering program is often a more comprehensive system for driving potential recruits or customers to a particular company. It may be a stand-alone process or may be sponsored by a company. Typically, participants in the lead batching or distributor gathering program work the leads by advertising campaigns … Continue reading MLM Lead Co-op https://www.growthmarketingpro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/instapage-landing-page-templates-1.png
Another great approach for how to actually make money online is If you’re savvy with social media. You can start a social media marketing business and make money that way. It doesn’t take much effort. Get a grasp on the big platforms like Facebook and Instagram and Snapchat. Then get out there and market your services. That’s pretty much what it takes to win in this field. https://blogv2new.clickfunnels.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Screen-Shot-2017-11-20-at-10.12.32-AM-1024x570.png

Why is the set of steps to conversion called a “funnel”? Because at the beginning of the process, there are a lot of people who take the first step. Then, as the people continue along and take the next steps, some of them drop out, and the size of the crowd thins or narrows. (And even further along in the process, your sales team gets involved to help close the deal.) https://blog.meshagency.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/ClickFunnel-Alternatives_Mesh-Blog-Post_Image-Featured-740x380.jpg

Can you really make the big money? The short answer is yes. However, most people don't. According to an Inc.com article on direct sales, the median income for an MLM rep is about $2,400 per year. That same article profiles a mom who makes $300,000 per year. Taylor researched Nu Skin and cited a 2008 case study which showed the number of people achieving Blue Diamond status (the highest level of earnings) was 0.14% — not even a half of a percentage point.
I highly recommend you at least have one funnel in place to generate customers in your business, whether it's a service or product-based business, because it will help keep your company safe. It will help keep you safe from the FTC coming in and saying, “Look, you just have a big down line full of people that only buy the product themselves. You don't have real customers. Thus you're not a real business.” https://blogv2new.clickfunnels.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/clickfunnels_blog-Funnel_Hacking_Live_2017-12.5.16_6V2.jpg
A 2018 poll of 1,049 MLM sellers across various companies found that most sellers make less than the equivalent of 70 cents an hour. Nearly 20 percent of those polled never made a sale, and nearly 60 percent earned less than $500 in sales over the past five years.[42][43] Nearly 32 percent of those polled acquired credit card debt to finance their MLM involvement.[44]

First of all, Avon “has” been. Second, Avon really needs to work on their appeal to a younger generation. Third, Avon makes it difficult for representatives to make any money unless you are purchasing a ton of catalogs and knocking on doors. The company really needs to allow representatives to advertise online, and I don’t mean spamming friends on a Facebook or Twitter feed. https://cdn-evergreenprof.pressidium.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/clickfunnels-funnel.png

If you want the efforts you put in today to pay off far into the future, choose a company that has proven it intends to be around for the long term. Approximately 90 percent of all network marketing companies fail within their first two years. You don't want to invest your precious time and resources—not to mention your future—in something that may not be in business next month.
To be clear, MLM is a viable home-based business opportunity. Anyone interested in selling a product to generate income has the ability to achieve success. With that said, it is crucial to research and investigate the company and products thoroughly to make sure that it's not a scam, and also, that it's a product and system you feel you can promote. There are many single-level marketing (selling products without a recruiting component) companies where the likelihood of generating income is much higher than typical MLM statistics. https://changecreator.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/null-30.png
Independent non-salaried participants, referred to as distributors (variously called "associates", "independent business owners", "independent agents", etc.), are authorized to distribute the company's products or services. They are awarded their own immediate retail profit from customers plus commission from the company, not downlines, through a multi-level marketing compensation plan, which is based upon the volume of products sold through their own sales efforts as well as that of their downline organization.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading your mlm breakdowns and the comments, thank you Jeremy. Had a successful mlm business but had to make a decision to give it up or have a breakdown due to ongoing upline bullying so at a big crossroads at the minute. being an ‘older’ lady here in the north of England doesn’t bode well for conventional job hunting in the current economic climate so some serious thinking needed on my part and QUICKLY lol. Thanks again Jeremy x
